Hard Landing in US ?
Hard landing is often associated with China in many reports. It suddenly occurs to me that whether the financial crisis in US can be classified as hard landing ? A quick search on "US hard landing" doesn't seem so.

Nanoc
I am always looking for CMS for blog and personal website. Most of choices are either too blog-oriented or resource-hungry. Nanoc is not CMS, but does offer what I need. I can use it to build a regular web site or blog. Since it only generates static HTML, it would be difficult to have user interaction such as comments or forums. I believe this problem can be overcome by using other services such as Plurk. It might be tricky to integrate these services all together, though.

Black image in Firefox 3 on FreeBSD 7

Option "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps" "True"
Option "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps" "True"

Gnash, Firefox 3 and FreeBSD 7.1
After installing Gnash from ports, Firefox cannot find the plugin. Gnash plugin is installed under /usr/local/lib/browser_plugins, and Firefox are looking for plugins under /usr/local/lib/firefox3/plugins. Make a symbolic link and it works.

Portsnap
I didn't use FreeBSD for a while and just installed 7.1 release recently. There are many changes over these years. One of them is the use of Portsnap to keep ports update to date.
